Duration: a table game play, 1 month, even now

Concept:
Conceived as theatre piece displayed in three locations in the city of Florence. The first stage is prepared in an appartment on the second floor of Via G. Carducci, number 18. In the corners of a room we find four monitors, one for each corner. The four videos consist of a frenetic cutting of four faces on extreme close up that tell different stories, like in the four corners game (il gioco dei quattro cantoni) and the faces shift place with timings varying from 3 to 7 seconds making the visitors loose the story’s progression. In a second room we find some booklets and an incomplete collage of texts. The texts are quotations from military strategy books and from investigation and surveillance manuals. The second stage is set in Dante’s Club of Via Dante, where four people play a match at the table game “watch your back”, projected in cooperation with the mathematician A. Cammi. In a contiguous room we find a slide show on the subject “The man in a queue”. The piece ends with the third part without timings in the Vicolo del Purgatorio (Purgatory’s Alley), a dead end street.

Pensato come uno spettacolo teatrale con tre dislocazioni
sulla città di Firenze.
Il primo palco è allestito in un appartamento al secondo
piano in Via G. Carducci al n°18.
Negli angoli di una stanza troviamo quattro monitor, uno per
angolo. I quattro video consistono in un montaggio frenetico
di quattro volti in primissimo piano che raccontano storie diverse, come nel gioco dei quattro cantoni le facce si cambiano di posto con tempi che variano tra i 3 e i 7 secondi facendo perdere al visitatore il senso del racconto. In una seconda stanza troviamo dei libretti e un collage di testi incompleto. I testi sono estrapolazioni da libri di strategia militare e da libri e manuali di metodi di sorveglianza e di
indagine.
Il secondo palco è allestito in Via Dante al Circolo Dante, dove si svolge tra 4 persone una partita al gioco in scatola “Guardati alle spalle”, progettato in collaborazione con il matematico A.Cammi. In una stanza attigua troviamo una proiezione di diapositive con un tema denominatore “L’uomo in fila”.
Lo spettacolo si conclude con il terzo atto a tempo indeterminato nel Vicolo del Purgatorio, un vicolo cieco.
